CERTES GROUP is a private consulting practice whose principal, Chuck Runge, has extensive experience in Silicon Valley leading the delivery of successful leading edge computer based products. These experiences are characterized by:

Some specifics of this background include:

• Co-founding Tenet Incorporated, where he led product development of a general-purpose 32-bit timesharing system, with advanced software features which did not become commonly available until years later and won in competitive bidding against major manufacturers. • Co-founding National Semiconductor's Systems Division, where he led the development of the software for its supermarket scanning systems, which allowed National to became one of the three top vendors in that market. He also developed the division’s first Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process.
• Leading product development for Onyx+IMI, which produced the first commercial, microprocessor-based UNIX system.
• Leading worldwide marketing of PC and microprocessor programming languages for Ryan-McFarland Corporation.
• Leading the development of computer based systems for real-time control and timesharing as well as application specific fields.
• Leading the development of the first semiconductor tester to be controlled by an embedded, proprietary computer and including the first commercial high-level test programming language (FACTOR). See Chip History - Sentry Tester for more information.
